If anyone has access to the Newport Parish Registers could they please lookup Mary Ann LAMPKIN born 1835/36 to Samuel & Elizabeth Lampkin of Newport.

Hallo, I've looked this up at Essex RO. The reply is a bit complicated because it requires a mention of 8 little LAMPKINs and 1 LAMBKIN and I probably won't have the time to type it all up in full until tomorrow but I think you will be happy with the result

Hallo again: I couldn't find her where you expected to find her but eventually I gathered a flock of them which led me to her! In case you need them all they are as follows:
Essex Record Office ref: Newport Christenings 1813-1848 D/P 15/1/3 fiche 1 of 2
page 22 Oct 4 1820 Thomas
page 22 Oct 11 1820 William
page 27 Mar 13 1822 John
page 44 May 8 1827 Susan
page 76 March 14 1839 George
D/P 15/1/3 fiche 2 of 2
page 84 Oct 26 1842 Elizabeth NB This was a person of riper years and answered for herself being 19 years of age*
page 84 Oct 26 1842 Samuel NB This was a person of riper years and answered for herself being 16 years of age*
page 84 Oct 26 1842 Mary Ann NB This child was 7 years old at the time of her baptism*
The parents of all of the above were Samuel and Elizabeth LAMPKIN of Newport, Carrier (the surname of John was spelt LAMBKIN).
In addition on fiche 2 on page 78 on Jan 27 1840 was Ann dau of Thomas and Ann LAMPKIN of Newport, Shopkeeper.
* These were comments made on the baptism entries by someone named E Gill (who may have been the parish clerk).
The search was discontinued at page 84.

Thank you very much for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

It looks like I now have the whole family. They seemed to baptise their children rather late in life making it difficult to find them in Parish registers. I suppose we all expect them to be baptised just after birth. Thanks again.
