Hi
Can anyone tell me if there is a name index out there yet for the 1841 census. I have Lewis' in Heston and being such a common name, I'm finding trawling through the census pages really ardudous!!
If anyone out there can point in the right direction I'd muchly appreciate it! OR if anyone has an index the people I'm looking for are: Henry (or Harry) Lewis born around 1834 in Heston, father is William, a baker and also Eliza GLADMAN born around 1836 in Heston, father is John a painter.

As far as I am aware, there is not yet a widely available index for Non-Metropolitan Middlesex, though some archives have indexed parts of NM Middx, so it might be worth contacting Hounslow Archives Library to see if Heston has been indexed for 41.

Eventually there will be lots of indexes, and I believe there are several commercial indexes on the way..........but at present...............not a lot I'm afraid!
The Genealogist is currently indexing Metropolitan Middlesex, and I believe that you can buy a subscription to their partial index now.
