Does anyone have a copy of the 1871 census for Lincolnshire. I am interested in a man called Thomas Martindale, who in 1875 at least was a primitive methodist minister at Scotter, with a father called George. George was a tailor and draper.
Thomas was born around 1852, but that's all I know so far. I know he married in 1875, and died by 1877. he married my great grandmother Louise Dixon in 1876 in Scarborough.
1871 isn't indexed on Ancestry.co.uk yet, I'm eagerly awaiting it, as I have a lot of Lincs relatives, though no Martindales. You can get indexes for the 1871 census from the Lincolnshire Family History Society and then order the print outs from Lincolnshire Library. I did this a couple of years ago, and it worked really well.
