Thornborough Birth Help Please

Looking for the parents of John Thornborough/Thornburn born Sep 1810 at Dumfries, Dumfriesshire.  Thank you for any help.  Glenys

Had a look on the BIVRI - couldn't see anything listed under either name. Do you know when he died - if it was 1855 or later his certificate should state who his parents are. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Hi Diane:  Thank you for checking - I am afraid I have no idea when he died, he simply disappears after his daughter's marriage in 1863 - he was then a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy.  Nothing on him in the Civil Registration deaths and I looked at every possible way I could think of to spell the name.  Perhaps he died in another country - I've checked OZ - nothing found.  He spent his land life in Devonshire, but most of the time appears to have been at sea.  Even a check at the PRO in London of his pension records turned up nothing - not even his pension records - and I have his pension number.  Very frustrating. 
I appreciate your time - I know I will just shake my head when he is finally found!
