Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me please??

I am trying to find out more about a GEORGE BLADES FOTHERGILL.

This is what I know about him, my apologies for not being much at all.

I think he was born in 1851 in Ravenstonedale.  He was christened on the 14th March 1852 in Ravenstonedale and his parents were a JOHN and ISABELLA FOTHERGILL.

I think I have found him on the 1881 census and unfortunately he is a convict at Parkhurst Prison, on the Isle of Wight.

He married in the December quarter of 1884 to a HANNAH SMITH. I am in the process of obtaining this certificate, to try and tie him down to something or someone.

Other than the above I know very little about him.  Family talk had him down as a black sheep, I think because of the convict situation mentioned earlier.  He had a habit of adding on years and taking them off his age.  To cover one secret or another.

Any help or advice I would be so very grateful for.
