Cole family in Whilshamstead/Houghton Conquest
« on: Tuesday 14 December 04 23:00 GMT (UK) »

Dear all,

Could you help me please. I am looking for information about the Cole Family in Bedfordshire. On the 1851 census, Joseph Cole is 29yrs old, born in Whilshamstead, and living in Houghton Conquest with his wife Mary, 32 yrs old, born in Buckden in Huntingdonshire/Hampshire.

He had 4 children, Ann Maria (8 & eldest), Charlotte, Daniel Benjamin, and Thomas James (my ancestor) aged 4months.

Ann Maria was born in Whilshamstead, but the rest were born in Houghton Conquest.

Could anyone check the following for me:

1. The 1841 census for Whilshamstead, to see if Joseph is living at home (he should be about 19).
2. The 1861 for Houghton Conquest (they are there in 1851 & 1871, so should be there on 1861)
3. The Marriage (I can't find it) for Joseph Cole and Mary Huh
4. Any ancestors and/or siblings of Joseph and Mary in the parish recs, BVI or other census source.

Thanks for your help,

James

Joseph COLE was born on the 7th Jan 1822 and christened on the 9th August 1829 in Wilshamstead [aka Wilstead] to James and Maria COLE [see IGI batch number CO21693]

James & Maria appear on the 1851 census [see page 19]

James was 69 and born in Wilstead and Maria was 69 and born in Steppingley

I noticed that you are interested in Honeybun/bourne and Cake in Dorset.  May have some information of interest  -  who are your particular interests?
