Hi,
I've placed a request before for a Michael Turnor, but the information I had was somewhat vague. Based on information from the national archives and the 1850 Post Office Directory I can qualify the info a bit more.
I'm looking for a Michael Turner, sometimes written Turnor. Occupation Surveyor. In the 1850 PO Directory, he is listed in Brereton, Rugeley. From the A2A site, there is correspondence from him up to and including 1865.
Can anyone help?

Following up from Gills achievement in breaking down my Turnor Brickwall in 1841, can anyone help me with Michael and Mary in 1851? I assume that they will still be in Upper Longdon.

Cheers Megabelly, I'm makin' inroads and my brickwall is turning into rubble!
I've also found the "survivors" in 81 and 91. Funnily enough, most of the kids never married. At least that cuts down on the number of cousins to find who are living today.

Hmmm.
I have found William in the 81 census, living in Sedgley, Staffs;
Walter had married a lady from France, and was living in lodgings in Worcs. Their daughter was born in Sussex;
Exsuperius was unmarried and still living with mummy, as was his sister Lucy. No dwelling was given, just Rugeley. Based on previous and subsequent pages, the house must have been somewhere between the Almshouse and coalpit lane. As the mother was a widow by then, Michael must have died somewhere between 55 (my last record of him) and 81.
At least I'm getting somewhere now.
