1901 England - 24 Peas, but not a single Pod (96 Podds, though)

278 Coppers and only 4 Crims (and they say the crime rate is improving!)

There was also one person in the 1881 census who couldnt tell his (look it up yourself-it really is there....) from his elbow (1)

1861 census for Nether Stowey, Somerset clearly transcribed as:

They Were Gone Early on Monday Morning

In this case the fiction is way funnier than the truth. Apparently a caravan of gypsies decided not to stay for the enumeration.
