Milton Union workhouse

I have just received the death certificate for my Great/Grandfather
                              JAMES NATHANIEL STUBBERFIELD.

He died in Milton Union Workhouse  24th March 1897.
aged 74
On the 1891 Census he was living with his daughter and family, so must have been admitted between 1891 and 1897.
I wonder if it is possible for me to find out any details of his admission and time spent there.
If anyone has any knowledge of how I should, "go about it" I would be very grateful.
