Hello again Adrian,

I  decided to try another route and have had a look on the BVRI 2.  The only John baptised in Broadmayne was baptised 1829, son of William and Sarah Bushrod.  Do you think there is a chance your John may have been born c1829 instead of 1832 Huh
The family of this John are the first ones listed on the 1851 census details I sent you.
William and Sarah Bushrod had the following children bapt at Broadmayne,
Jane White Bushrod 1816
Henry Bushrod 1818
George Bushrod 1820
Thomas Bushrod 1823
Marianne Bushrod 1825
John Bushrod 1829.

I can't find them on 1841 census, probably on one of the illegible pages but as I said they do appear on the 51.

I am not sure who Elizabeth is, maybe Thomas' wife, but the rest are brothers and sisters. George the other brother is married to Eliza and also living in Broadmayne.  That only leaves John who is not in Dorset!  William and Sarah must have died as I can not find them on the census.
What do you think?

To be honest it could be possible, the dating comes from later census reports. I have nothing to confirm if 1832 is correct or not.

The only bit that worries me is he would have then been around 36 by the time the first child was born and around 50 when the last was born, but then his wife would be a round 13 years younger. So maybe its ok.

I think I will work on the premis that John is this one and that he had left dorest by 1851, so will re look for him in Kent and his wife/marriage. As Eliza was b 1841 (ish) then probably no marriage until at least 1857, but with the first child being born in 1864 feel its more likely to be near that date than earlier.

I really appreciate you help on this, its hopefully saved me months and months of frustration  Kiss
