Can you provide any names, dates or other information about the person/s you're looking for?

Without a port of arrival or likely ship, a search of the unindexed and often incomplete shipping records would be prohibitive. The best method is to locate an individual in the country, if possible, then work back.

sorry I don't know the name of the ship, all I do know is
Hugh Lamont came to New Zealand in 1920/21 aged 20/21 from
Ireland. via the panama canal. Don't even know the port of arrival.
He seems to be my brick wall.

the only info I can give about Hugh Lamont is he was born in Maboy
Ireland on 21 August 1900, married Irene Marjory Thomas in
Levin, New Zealand on 27 November 1922, he died 1966 Te Kuiti, New Zealand.
Like I said he is a brickwall, and I can't find out anything
else. Hope you can help

Get some one to do a search at Church of Latterday Saints on the social security records and it may come up with name of ship they entered the country on .Shipping records at Petone shipping museum only cover ships up until 1897. Hope this is of some help
