Many thanks for your support, I am not in the least put off by any opinions good bad or ugly, everyone has the right to express them.

Now I am seeking information and establishing a correct surname for my ggggrandmother, I have two listed, both I am told are correct and she used both, but for what reason I do not know, here is whom I seek information for.

Patrick DUFFY b17/9/1786 Parish of Calry Sligo Ireland d11/4/1854 Pennant Hills New South Wales Australia
married Bridget CONNOLLY/CONLAN? Abt 1810 place unknown, Bridget was born Parish of Calry Sligo Ireland abt 1788 and died 11/4/1854? Pennant Hills New South Wales Australia.
I have not been able to find Bridgets birth certificate, but her maiden name is recorded on the baptism of three of her children as having the surname of CONLAN.
I also have enough information for Patrick but not Bridget.
Patrick and Bridget had 9 children.
I am still on the trail of my elusive MENERE family but have taken a rest from that side for now and trying to update my other side.
If anyone is interested in the names DUFFY, MOBBS, ALDERTON, GRASS and a few besides, I now have a family tree on tribal pages.

Since birth registration in Ireland only started in 1864 there will be no birth certificate. The find a baptismal record you need to know religion and place family lived, then find out if the church records from that period still exist.
Bridget's death certificate, if in Australia, should give details of her parents, etc. (if the details were known to the informant).

Hi Ozzy Al,  I am researching the Duffy/Conlan, Connolly name my /GreatGrandmother was Maria daughter of John Duffy and Charlotte Mary Ann Brooks they had sixteen children, and she married Thomas Higgins "Old Mans Valley Hornsby"  I like you have plenty on Patrick and have just started to research the Conlan side, in Sligo ,
