Prison Officer Employment Records 1871?
« on: Sunday 11 September 05 00:06 BST (UK) »

Hi folks,

In the 1871 census Allen Ives is listed as a prison officer. He lived in 10 St. James St. Islington All Saints (Finsbury). At the time there were two correctional facilities nearby. Clerkenwell House of detention and Middlesex House of Correction.

Any advice on how to proceed to determine which he worked at would be most appreciated.

cheers,
