I'm primarily researching the name Timperon around the Bromfield/Wigton area.  Linked names are Richardson, Finlinson and Ismay.  If anyone has these names on their tree and would like to exchange information please get in touch.

Hi Lesley,

I have a slight connectoin to Ismay in the Wigton area.  It's a by marriage connectoin to my Lowthers.  I don't have th einfo with me just now but will have when I get home.  I'll post again.

The Ismays I have are...

Jonathan Ismay married to Mary Wilson 21/5/1780 in Wigton.  They had a daughter Elizabeth born in 1793 she married William Pattinson on the 1/1/1814 and their son Joseph married Sarah Lowther (1814-1875) who is in my tree.

Lesley, for what it's worth, as a child in the 1940s I lived opposite a farm owned by a Polly Timperon at Causewayhead near Silloth. She was an elderly lady and a widow but it is my understanding that the farm had been in the family for a long time. The farm buildings adjoined the graveyard of St. Paul's Church.
The following URLs all contain Timperon references. The lowermost one so I have just noticed, contains an MI to the Polly mentioned above.
