I am looking for a free web album software package but so far have had no luck and I wondered if anybody knows of one? Preferably one that is easy to use!!!!

It's just as well, that IrfanView is free, otherwise, the number of times I recommend it here,
people would think I have shares in the company
Kerry, if you haven't already got it, download IrfanView: www.irfanview.com
(and while you're at it, download the plug-ins as well - one of them is for DejaView [GRO images !])
Now you can set up a web album with just a few clicks.
start IrfanView
click on "File", "Thumbnails" -- a new window will open
select a directory where all your images are (try it out with just a few images in one directory)
click on "Options", "Select all"
click on "File", "Save selected thumbs as HTML file ..."
First time round, just click on "Export"
- the files and thumbnails will be moved to the directory c:\temp
then find C:\temp in windows Explorer.
you will see a file thumbnails.html
doubl-click on this, and Voila !!!
Later you can set up an images directory (folder) within your web pages and set it up there.
This is just to see if you like the results.

thanks for that, I have Irfan View but apart from using it to view photos I use it very rarely. Must investigate further.

I downloaded Jalbum a couple of weeks ago and am in the middle of setting up an album. For some reason though, it just won't accept a handful of my photos, they show up in the thumbnail page but not as full sized pics. I thought perhaps they were too big and made 1 smaller but no difference. I am going to take those pics out and use the album without them for now until I can work out what is wrong with them!
Thanks for the tip, I like J album - afterall its free!!

I was trying to use Camera geek and it was just 5 out 34 pictures that would not show full size!

Kerry on "camera geek", when you click on make album you should get a pop up suggesting that you link to the originals - an alternative is to tick the copy originals box, this is especially important if you are uploading direct from jalbum to the web.
Other than that to be quiet honest, I cant think of anything - if the file names were the prob they wouldn't show up in the thumbnails either.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that I always make the album in a desktop folder first so that I can try it out before uploading, If it works there then the problem must be uploading to your site.
