The Fountain Pub in Colchester

I was born in Colchester in 1961. My Father had a pub there called 'The Fountain' Hotel. We moved away when I was just a young child.

If any one has any memories of it I'd love to hear them (good or bad!). There's no one in the family to ask these things

The Fountain is mentioned and lists the Publicans... but only until 1933!

Hi Lyndsey.
                 The Fountain has had many names since you left.
According to the street directory for 1962  Mr BGE Candlish was the propieter. Your father? In 1968 it was Mr WJ Dickson. According to www.camulos.com/inns the names are---
         1872 - 1980 The Fountain
         1980 - 1985 Roundabout
         1985 - 1988 Carousel
         1988 - 1996 Dicken's Inn
         1990 -          Molly Malones

        Can you send me all info for new Pubs updates, I only have a limited number of hours in the day, but all updates eventually happen.
        I am working on all of the East London Pubs too at the moment About 500 + added so far, in a limited format.
