Distington the Friendly Parish Book
« on: Sunday 11 September 05 20:54 BST (UK) »

I have been trying in vain to get hold of a copy of this book. Please does anyone have a copy that they either dont want or who could send me a copy of the page that has Chapel Street on it. The Wilkinson metioned on that page is one of my husbands ancestors and I would love to add it to my file.

Hi Audrey, No it wasn't firpress, I think he may have published it himself http://www.destinations-uk.com/books.php?link=books&id=26
The details are on there. I have also tried Michael Moons in Whitehaven but no luck there either. I figured maybe my only option was a copy of that page which I would be more than happy with.

Thanks

I have had a few Workington ones off ebay. Some Herbert & Mary Jackson ones and 4 from Workington Grammar school.  I have just notice u have Messengers ... so have I! Distington, Gulcrux & Clifton.
If you ever come across any photos of Mossbay when browsing your books I would love to hear from you! My family lived there from 1880's
