My Overends were from Crosshills, Sutton in Craven and Kildwick, Keighley.
Have you looked at the web site www.overends.freeserve.co.uk (I think) if not just type in Overend, kildwick in Yahoo or Google. Anyway I link to that lovely long line.

Hi Rowdy Jnr,
The closest I could find is a Thomas Overend b. 30th March, 1823, Kildwick. Parents Thomas Overend and Anne Houlegate. The Thomas b. 1823 actually raised my Gr. grandmother when her parents died.
I've made a few contacts over the years so I will check your data with them.

Hi Rowdy Jnr,
I've had a good look through ALL my files on the Overend line, and decided to follow the name Wilkinson being an unusual name.
Every Wilkinson Overend that I have found all link to the one family.
Sarah Overend, 1st born child to John Overend and Martha Barrett, born on the 8th July 1739. Supposedly married Thomas Binns but all their children are in the name of Overend.
Elias b. 22nd June, 1764 married Mary Butler, 5th Sept, 1785, Kildwick, they had a child -Wilkinson Butler Overend b. 8th Dec. 1796
William b. 15th Feb. 1772, married Ann Heaton on the 14th June, 1796, they had a child -Wilkinson Overend. b. 27th Feb, 1799.
A Wilkinson Overend married Elizabeth Hardacre on the 18th April, 1824, Kildwick, they had a son Thomas Overend, b. 15th Aug. 1824, Farnhill or Keighley. who apparently died 17th March, 1892.
I hope this is of some help, but its the best I can come up with.

Hi Margaret
I have lots of Overends , my maiden name ,originated in Westmorland but one branch Thomas and Mary Sanderson ended up in Whitby
Wonder if there is any connection

I am afraid I don't have anything on my Overends being at Whitby, or anywhere near there.
I only have details of those from around Kildwick area, sorry, of course there is always the off chance they ended up there, but as you say - yours originated from Westmorland.

Thanks Margaret always on the look out for Overend's anywhere
Have them back to about 1650 in Orton Westmorland -my line were Overends on both sides and intermarried with Thornborough & Bowness quite often
The couple who went to Whitby , Thomas and Mary ,was early 1800's
I do check the Overend site every now and again and often think there might be a link to the Kiddleswick line some where as it is quite an unusual name -so are the variations !
