Hello

      Can someone advise me where to start. I am looking for Thomas Mark Mitchell, his wife Sarah & their family

The last known child Thomas Mark Mitchell (jnr) was born in Hutton Henry, Durham, England in 1867 then the family disappear off the face of the Earth until
2 sons - James William & Thomas Mark turn up in Australia where they marry in 1888. I can find no record of their entry into Australia.

It was always the belief of the family that Thomas Mark Mitchell (jnr) came from N.Z.

I am trying to find if the family emigrated to N.Z. first & from there James & Thomas came to Australia.

                              Help Please!!!!!!

Hi Kim,
I can't really help with the logistics, but just wanted to say that my g-g-grandfather Michael Nancarrow with his brother came out here from Cornwall - first to NZ, and then several years later to SYdney where he settled.  His brother stayed in NZ I believe.
So it does happen!

Hi Oz Kim,

I can't find any record of a Thomas Mark MITCHELL, although there are lots of T Mitchell's which makes it harder.

I suggest you look for an arrival of the family at an Australian port close to where you know they first lived. Use the Australian shipping lists and other resources. Once you find an arrival you can trace the voyage back to a port of departure in NZ, and an approximate date.
