Torquay address
« on: Monday 12 September 05 09:57 BST (UK) »

In 1901 census (RG13/2060/62/21) my grandmother is a boarder at an address in Torquay. It seems to be clear enough and says 'Kents Terrace', but this is not recognised in Streetmap.  Can any kind person who knows Torquay help identify the location, please?

Try   http://www.old-maps.co.uk/

The map of Torquay there has loads of "---- Terrace" couldn't see Kent's but could be there somewhere.

Good luck

Thanks for the tip, Jan.

Can't find it there ...... yet.

I think I'll go back to the census and see which roads were "done" either side of Kents Terrace, and see if I can work it out from there.

Cheers and thanks again.

Hi Kents Terrace is part of Kents Road, in the Wellswood area of Torquay. Just up the road from Kents Cavern

Hi Terry,

Thanks very much for that, that's brilliant. Would have replied earlier, but have been away for a few days.

Thanks again,
