Good Morning. Re the little blue 'new' logo next to messages.
Would it be possible to perhaps make this change colour or shape once you have actually read the message ?
I'm old (well not that old) but I do find it highly confusing -I can't always remember which I have read and which I have not If I hav'nt looked in for a while I find I'm reading the same ones over again.
The little logo only goes away if you post an answer. Is it possible ? Suey

Sorry to jump in before Trystan has had a chance to reply. Sorry Trystan.
If you are on the message index and click on a link to view a message and then press your back button to go to th eindex then th eblue "new" sign will be there. As you are viewing the old view of the page before you looked at the message.
If you refreshed the screen the blue "new" button would disappear. Alternatively you can go back to the index by selecting the board on th eleafy structure at the top...
e.g. RootsChat.Com General The Common Room Post reply ( Re: For Attention of Trystan )
You can jump to the general index or the common room from the page I'm on at the moment.
This of course may not be the problem? Are the blue "new" buttons staying even if you refresh the screen?
Cheers, Pam

If you use the "back" button on your browser, then the "new" will still be there obviously because it was there last time.
The other thing too, is that you need to be logged in for RootsChat to remember whether or not you have seen a message before or not (rather than looking at messages as a "Guest", and only logging on when you want to post something).
If you instead navigate RootsChat with the links within RootsChat (eg using the "Home" button to look at the index, or clicking on one of the "branches" (the ones with leaves on!) then there should be no problems.
Also, some people can expect problems if they use any "internet accelerators" (or whatever these companies want to call them) - these are programs that appear to make your connection quicker by keeping old images stored.

OK Thanks everyone - I'm not only old but technically challenged as well .
I have been hitting the back button - doh! - it's quicker than scrolling up or down. If I go to the leaves at the top to go back the 'blue new' disappears
Problem solved... Suey

It's no problem - sometimes I do the same, then I use the branches instead.
It must be the monkey in me.
