Can anyone provide any detail on Alexander Hay who married Marjory Bruce on 29.10.1836 @ St Nicholas Aberdeen.
She was child of George Bruce and Marjory Fraser. They had 2 or 3 children- Alexander, my gggfather, christened 23.12.1840, Marjory ch. 5.10.1838 both at St Nicholas. They also had Jane born 1838 (no christening can be found).
1841 census shows the family in Love Lane, Spittal, Aberdeen comprising Alexander 30, mason, Marjory 30, George 10, Jean 5 and Alexander 5 months.
Alexander (senior) died prior to 1846 as Marjory (senior) married James Ross on 28.5.1846 Old Machar. Alexander junior also became a mason and came to Australia about 1865.
I have found 7 Alexander Hay born in Aberdeenshire around 1810, but cannot pin-point the right one.
Any assistance welcomed.
