1851 Census Suffolk - HUDGELL

Hiya, Could anyone with the 1851 census for Suffolk please look for me for any HUDGELL family in the Cockfield, and Stowmarket areas some could be innkeepers of The Greyhound pub in Stowmarket, but any HUDGELL's would be appricated.

Hi Pam. Welcome to Rootchat hope u find it as helpfull as the rest of us have. Do u realise that the 51 census isnt out yet only the index of which there r people on the forum who have it. There will not be any detail in the index. Being a census request u will probably have more success if u place it in the census lookups rather than the Suffolk board. I always look in here also in case there is anybody I can help with 61. Mayb those with 51 index dont.

Thanks very much Kris, I will do that, if I can find my way around, I have the 1861 do you know if there is an index for that also, I have only found 2 people there and I know there must be loads of Hudgells there but finding them is another thing.

No Pam as far as I know there is not an index and I know what u mean. Trying to find people when u dont know where they r is so difficult. Actually I was just checking my index to c how big Cockfielf is to have a look but since u have already done it I wont bother. I c at least it is only a small parish. LOL

Good luck with your research. U should get word from someone with the 51 index from the census lookups I would Think.

hi I have 1851 index only here the Hudgell's I can see

Mary A  born stowmarket  age 20 in folio 19  190  (Lowestoft)
Alfread(their spelling) born stowmarket age 12 folio 14 015
Hannah born stowmarket age 51 in folio 08 650
Jonnathen(theirs) born Gipping age 58 folio 04 015
Sarah born lowestoft age 51 foilio19 190
Temperence born Baylham age 54 foilio 04 015

should think those in 04 015 which is cockfield are all same family but as so few probably all related
