Policeman to inspector in Berkshire
« on: Tuesday 13 September 05 23:07 BST (UK) »

Looking for information on Henry James Wood known also as  Harry Wood onetime
policeman and eventually Inspector in the Berkshire Constabulary, one time based at Blewbury. Had a son who joined the same force.
Before becoming a policeman Harry Wood
joined the Grenadier Guards at the age of 17.
His Mother was named Sarah Lydia Wood but kept to the name Lydia. She later married into the Clifford Family of Cheltenham.

Hi Lanc Lad,

The best place to approach is the Thames Valley Police Museum at Sulhampstead.

The Curator,
Thames Valley Police Museum
Sulhamstead House
Sulhamstead

I am not sure what they hold but I do know that they charge for information
