Census 1851,1861+ NIBLET(T) Leominster
« on: Wednesday 14 September 05 08:18 BST (UK) »

Am looking for the following family:

NIBLET(T), William and wife Elizabeth (nee Williams)
married in Leominster 1830
He was possibly born 1800-1805

Children all born Leominster

Daughter Elizabeth married in 1870 in Kensington so family (or just her) may have moved to London

Would love to know Occupation and Birth Place of William Niblet(t)
Occupation may be Builder???

Many Thanks

Note: these are the only two Eliz* NIBLET* born in Leominster in 1861 census, so I think Eliza (daughter) must be the same as Elizabeth married in Kensington?

Thank you Arranroots,

So much for my Builder from Birmingham - I ended up with a Stone Cutter from Gloucester - that's Family History.

Many thanks for all your help

Happy Hunting

Ooh Sue!  Isn't that fascinating?

Baugh's Yard may have become Balls Yard over the 10 year period 1851-1861, do you think?  I love the way words change, and it could just be an enumeration error, but that is how these things evolve!

Even more interesting for me, as there is a BAUGH in my in-laws family tree.

Quite a gentle description of poor Thomas, too. Bonus maiden name for you, Di!

I'll be quiet now - easily excited!  Grin

Thank You Sue and Arranroots,

The Thomas Williams (B-I-L) confirms that we have the right family. Knew William had married Elizabeth Williams so it is great to know details of the family.

The daughter's marriage cert said that William Niblet was a builder(??) - I guess he built houses using "stone" (or wishful thinking on the daughters part)

Oh well, back to the Yellow Brick Road - it has to lead somewhere!!

Thank you both
Regards
