recently i visited bielby to look at the memorial , as well as listing who died in the war it says:-

The following also served and returned to the village

Dewsbury W.E.                Robinson A.
Hutchinson G.F.                Shepherdson G.
Holdridge F.                      Stainton  A.
Lazenby W.                       Thompson  R.
Lund A.                              Robinson V.

I know A. Lund served in WW1 . Dont know if that applies to all the names.

Holdridge, F was Frederick John Holdridge.  He was born in Bielby in 1895 the son of Albert Edward Holdridge and his wife Ann Mary Adamson.

I do not know whether Fred served in WW1 but his older brother certainly did.  He (George Wilson Holdridge, born 1893 in Manchester) died on 27th Sep 1918 and is commemorated both in the H.A.C. Cemetery at Ecoust-ST. Mein and also locally at Hayton near Londesborough.

Their father, Albert was my GG uncle.
