Young family -eastcastle collierley-HELP

     Hello,
         my grandfather was born at eastcastle, collierley tanfield in 1899 his name was Thomas Yong and his sister catherine.I know his father was William Young and he married a Elizabeth Tilley in 1895.Unfortunately Elizabeth died in 1901 and thomas and Catherine went to live with a
Thomas Richardson and his wife Sarah Jane.We do not know what relationship these were to him-pretty new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated
         Can anybody help on where william was before this and who his family were-I think he may have been born around 1869 and I think Elizabeth was born 1870----he never knew either of them so could not tell us anything  but he did talk of moving to Stoney Heap-iveston-lanchester
but I believe the houses are gone from there now.

I don't know if this will be any use to you or not but I found a William Young (aged 1year) in Tanfield on the 1871 cencus.  He is the son of Joseph Young, a butcher, and his wife Annie.  Annie was born in Lanchester (possible connection?).  Its on RG10/4955 can't see folio number but its on page 18 of Tanfield - Havannah.

There is also a John William (aged 1year) also in Tanfield, the son of William, a blacksmith, and Isabella.  RG10/4955 folio 103 page 41

Elizabeth Tilley is on the 1881 census at East Castle Colliery. Do you have this info already?

   no I havn,t. That means she must be with her family as the only thing I have on her is her marriage in1895 and death in 1901-so that would be great thanks

 how on earth did you find william tilley in metropolitam police-i have looked for that for ages -dates tally with what i have as i think he was born round about 1867 making him 32 in 1899.I also know that he was definateley a detective and not srgt so this would be right
