I am trying to trace the parents of Thomas Taylor b. 1785 in Langdon, Essex. Died Lympne, Kent. April 1844. Any help would be much appreciated.

I just want to clarify this. Do you mean Langdon Hills in Essex? If so, I'll check the baptism register for that parish circa 1785 at Essex RO soon.

Hello Clincher,
I got the Langdon lead from the LDS site for Thomas Taylor, This is my 3 G.grandfather. All it says is born Langdon, Essex. about 1785 . Married Lydia Newman 29th June 1803 at Lympne, Kent. Died Lympne, Kent 12th April, 1844. If you would be so kind as to have a look in Langdon Hills registers I would be very grateful as it might lead me to his mother and father.

Hi, I'm writing this at Essex Record Office. Langdon Hills registers are a bit of a muddle. For circa 1785 there seem to be 2 lots of records but I've looked at them both. Both lots mix baptisms,marriages and burials together but I've gone through them all. And the writing ain't too clever. I'm afraid these are the only TAYLOR baptisms I could find:
Mary baptised Nov 2 1788
Elizabeth baptised Mar 3 1793
both daughters of William and Martha TAYLOR
and I found them on microfiche D/P 234/1/3 fiche 1 of 2.
The other microfiche I looked at were D/P 234/1/1.
I couldn't find any TAYLOR marriage in Langdon Hills and this was borne out by the Essex marriage transcripts.

Thank you for looking at the Langdon Hills records for me.The info regarding these other Taylors may tie in somewhere. I'll do a little more rersearch in Kent. You never know. Thanks for your help.
