Allan or Allen
« on: Thursday 15 September 05 06:58 UTC (UK) »

Looking for information on very distant Grandparents.
Samuel Allen or Allan married Mary Holdsworth on 10-12-1827 in Clones, Monaghan, Ireland.
I can not verify the date of the marriage or location as it was passed along to me with out any proof from the person.
These two did marry though and are listed on there son, Samuel death certificate.
I appreciate any help!

Hello Carol,

I looked in the online extracts of Griffith's Valuation of Ireland  ... Co. Monaghan 1858 - 60. There was no Samuel Allan but there were two guys named Allen.

Samuel Allen, Glenagh, Aghabog, Monaghan

Samuel Allen, Tinary, Aghabog, Monaghan

The Valuation took place thirty years after the time that Samuel and Mary married so if the family did not emigrate this listing could be either Samuel snr or Samuel jnr.
