Hi There was a cotton Mill at Wood Eaves, try this connection
http://www.a2a.org.uk/search/index.asp
Keyword - enter wood eaves Location of Archives - scroll this list and enter Derbyshire Record Office Click Search
two items will appear it is the records for Strutt Family of Belper you need, this refers to the land and not the cotton mill, as you will see there is no mention of a waterfield. However if you enter Waterfield instead of wood eaves you will get a result, both of these results refer to Waterfield and the Cotton Mill.
If you have not used this site, it is what various record offices hold in England, not all the records they have have been entered as yet so it is worth going back from time to time. Try that Bassano name lots of results some may be yours.
This site is normally entered via National archives site at Kew.

Hi Gay
It is possible to purchase copies of documents held in Record Offices, however it depends on a number of facts 1. condition of document 2.If the document has a wax seal, some record offices will not copy 3. if the document is large etc.
Each office has its own rules and charges.
On the results page there is a link to Derbyshire Record Office giving contact details.
Best to e-mail, and so there is no confusion, to copy and paste the items listed.
For instance the document re Wood eaves estate ref. D3772/T26/25/1-19 - date: 1710-1831 has 19 separate items. (1-19) They will charge you not only for copies but if they have to sort through all 19 document their time as well.
You will be required to sign to say you will not copy, publish etc.
If you are looking for people in other parts of the Country, do try the other record offices in the drop down list. Remember, just because your family were from Derby/Derbyshire does not necessarily mean the records will be held in Derbyshire try other counties. Where they are depends on who held the records and which county they decided to hand them over too.
