Can anyone tell me how to find some information about my great uncle who was killed whilst working on the Grantham railway tunnel. I believe in the 1940's.

No specific info unfortunately.
There were two tunnels near Grantham-
1) Stoke Tunnel, about 5 miles to the south. 2) Peascliffe Tunnel, a couple of miles to the north of Grantham.
There would have been an inquest. If you can get a death certificate, this would give you a date of death which would enable you to (possibly) find the details of the inquest from newspaper reports.
Railway staff records-

The railway company at Grantham was the LNER.
