Hopefully I won't be thought too greedy asking for three look-ups in a single post! I am trying to pin down the spouse of a forebear of mine; her name was Mary Ann, she was born in Hetton-le-Hole c. 1828. She married a James Young, b. 1805, in the late 40s or early 50s. FreeBMD has given me three candidates for James Young's wife: Mary Ann Dowell, Mary Ann Robson, and Mary Robinson. If it would not be a great imposition, could some kind person have a look to see if any of the three ladies aforementioned matches what little information I have on this elusive ancestress?
Thank you in advance for your time.

Hi,
I don't know if this will help but I found a baptism at St. Michael & All Angels church Houghton-le-Spring on 25 Oct 1829 for a Mary Ann Robson, daughter of James & Mary abode Easington Lane.
Also at the same church baptism 20 Jan 1831 Mary Ann Robson, daughter of George & Ann, abode Easington Lane.
Also at the same church baptism 3 Jul 1831 Mary Ann Robson, daughter of George & Ann, abode Easington Lane. (Um...confused? Good! So am I )
1841 Census, Houghton le Spring District Hetton-le-Hole, Lyons
George Robson, 40, Coal Miner Barbara Robson, 45 Mary Ann Robson, 12 George Robson, 10 Joseph Robson, 8 John Robson, 3
1851 Census, Easington District Haswell 1851 Census, South Hetton
Thomas Adamson, Head, married, 24, Coal Miner, born Low Flats, Durham Martha Adamson, Wife, married, 24, born Hebron [Hebburn?], Durham Mary Ann Dowell, Visitor, 22, born Jarrow, Durham
1841 Census, Lanchester District Kyo 1841 Census,Kyo
George Robinson, 30, Coal Miner Mary Robinson, 30 Mary Ann Robinson, 12 George Robinson, 10 Isabel [Isabella] Robinson, 8 Maria Robinson, 5 Elizabeth Robinson, 2
I know none of this answers your question about which Mary Ann your James married, but I had a few credits to use up at http://www.durhamrecordsonline.com/newsearch.php so thought I'd see what I could find.
Hopefully when you discover which one he married something out of this lot will be a help
Good luck Tabitha

Thank you, Tabitha!
Being in the States, it can be a bit challenging to get one's hands on information about long-dead British ancestors.
Robson looks like a promising candidate. If the correct Mary Ann, her son James had a daughter named Barbara. It's a bit of a leap in logic, but knowing that in those days it was customary to recycle family names, I'm feeling a bit hopeful, since I don't believe that Barbara was particularly common for that period (if I'm wrong, though, someone feel free to correct me!).
