I'm looking for information on Thomas Gaze and his wife Ann nee SMALL, married St Hilda's South Shields 7 Nov 1838.

Can anyone help?

I have looked at 1861 census, and can't find him. There is a death registered in South Shields, March quarter 1858 for a Thomas Gaze.
This could be Ann in 1861-
29 Burleigh Street, East Sunderland RG9/3778 folio 17 p27
Ann Gaze, head, wid, 62, Mariner's widow, Yorks Hunmanby
Ann Gaze, grandaur, unm, 17, French Polisher, Durham Sunderland
Thomas Gaze, grandson, 11, Scholar, do

Thanks for that - in a way I hope it's not the right one! My Ann SMALL was born Chatham, 1819, so the age would be out. I can't find anything as yet to say if it was the right Ann SMALL. Will have to try the marriage registers next.
