I am looking for details of a marriage:
William PROWSE to Harriett BRADLEY.
I have a birth certificate of a child of theirs, Elizabeth, which says mother is “Harriet Prowse, formerly Bradley”.
Re their wedding details,
William was born in 1851, in Dodbrooke, Devon.
Harriett was born in 1855, in Alnwick Northumberland.
I know they weren’t together for the 1881 census (they were both individually in Middlesex).
I know they were together by the 1891 census, in Devon.
I also know that Elizabeth their daughter, was born on 25th June, 1888 in Plymouth, Devon and they were together then.
We think they might have had a son, also William, in 1886,
So, Harriet must have married William Snr sometime between 1881 and 1886/7.
That narrows it down a little!
I cannot find details of their marriage anywhere. I guess it could be possible that Harriett had been married before, so her maiden name wasn’t used on the marriage certificate, but following those lines, I can’t find a previous marriage for her either!
Any help or suggestions very welcome!!!!

Marriages Sep 1881
Horwell Emily Newton A. 5b 262
Potter Harriett Newton A. 5b 262
Prowse William Newton A. 5b 262
WARREN David Newton Abbot 5b 262
These four people all married at the same time in Newton A[bbot] in Devon. Could this be your Harriett? I'll keep looking for a while - see if there are other Harrietts there.

I am aware of three Harrietts who married a Prowse -
Potter, Stradling & Mason.
However, I can't seem to link them to 'my' William.
