I'm trying to decipher a verse on a headstone. Most of the words have worn away but I'm hoping someone may have encountered the same verse in their travels. "Crop'd in my early bud, ----- in [Paradise?] lie, -------- [Remember?] you must Die." Anybody able to fill in the gaps??? Regards, Carolina
Crop'd in my early bud My soul in Paradise lie Today to me and tomorrow to thee Remember thou must die.
It is to remind the reader of their own mortality.
I have seen this several times on children's/young peoples graves.............but I don't know where it comes from..........sorry Carolina
