Hi
Can anyone help me with where I would go to get a marriage cert please.
My g grandmother was married @ St Marple, All Saints, Cheshire. I believe this is registered at Stockport.
Is there anyone that know's where I need to go in Stockport to get a copy as I am not familiar with the area.

Hi,
the record office in Stockport is by the side of the town hall which is on the main A6 road going into Stockport from Hazel Grove.
You will need the date of the marriage and the church.
They will send the certificate by post if you send the details, a stamped addressed envelope and a cheque for £7.

Hi again,
The address to write to for the certificate is,
Superintendent Registrar, Stockport Register Office, Town Hall, Stockport, Cheshire, SK1 3XE, UK
The Cheshire BMD website has marriages from 1837 to 1850s for All Saints Marple, so perhaps if you are not sure of the date you could check on there. Also there is a form for applications for certificates for each marriage so you could send that to the Register Office in Stockport.
