Marriage Look-up Woolbeeding
« on: Friday 16 September 05 21:33 BST (UK) »

Hi ,
have been having troubles with my COWDRAYS! JAMES COWDRAY G.G.G.Grandfather was married to ANN(ANNE) in 1841 WOOLBEEDING census. They have six children at the time, William being my  G.G.Grandfather.The oldest child is 18 the youngest 3. In future census the childrens birthplace is BIGNOR and I know JAMES was born TILLINGTON. I can not find his christening there (could be LODSWORTH). Most importantly I need ANNE'S maiden name so need thier marriage.
So probally Woolbeeding,Bignor or Tillington, for about 1822 maybe slightly earlier or later,Thank You,

Diane Smiley

Hi Nell,
Thank You so much, have been so busy doing other things that I have only just got round to James.

All Best Wishes

Hi Diane - there is a James Cowdrey, father William, baptised 10th May 1895, Lodsworth Sussex on the IGI.

There are 16 Cowdreys, Lodsworth if you look under the batch number.

The only one that appears on BVRI is a
James Cowdray with parents John & Charlotte -
Baptised Tillington 8th June 1851 - it's the only one for Lodsworth and nothing else this side of the County Huh

Hi Suey,
Whooppee !  you have just made my day because James was given as being from Tillington and I did not have any parents for him. There is someone else researching Cowdrays and he is decended from another James from the same area and kept getting my greatgrandfather,( another James) mixed up with one of his.Its not a very common name but at least my search is narrowed down. Now at last I can work backwards, thanks to you and Nell,

My Very Best Wishes
