Hello Lois - have you tried the pay per view site 1837 online.  You should find the GRO reference for his birth and from this you can order his birth cert.

this site is run by a Roger cornish and he has helped me no end with my Cornishes
there is a Albert v born 1911 in stratton on the site and he would be able to give you the certificate details for you to obtain that.
