My great grandmother was one on 9 daughters to James Graham (Navy then Coastguard). Her sister Agnes Graham, the third oldest, born 1879 in West Mersea Essex, married Matthew Stafford Dec 24th 1900 at St Simons Church Portsea Portsmouth. He was a miner from West bolden Durham, born 1879 at Bolden Colliery. (Haven't yet worked out how they met.) In 1901 they were at 9 Sharpe Road Wallsend, both aged 22. They emigrated to Canada but I don't know when. I do have though 2 photos: One of Agnes with the caption on the back 'This is our cabin at the lake'. The other of 4 generations (all male) sat outside a timber clad house. On the back it reads, ' Me, Mat, Billy & Wayne. At front of Mats house 19/8/58' I think me must have been Agnes' husband Matthew, then their son Matthew, grandson, Billy and great grandson Wayne. Wayne looks about 8. Any help or suggestions in finding out about Matthew and Agnes and their descendents appreciated. Jo

Jo,
If you do a search on
http://findaperson.canada411.ca/
you will get two hits for Wayne Stafford: one in Alberta and one in Ontario. You could write or phone them.
Good luck! Josephine
