Searching for information about James Morris c1815. married Elizabeth Dearden in 1855 in Hay, Breconshire. Was a widower at the time. Struggling to find info on this part of my family. Cheers, Di.

There are three possibilities for James Morris :

MORRIS James  35           HO107/1975  folio 291  Bosbury

MORRIS James  35           HO107/1981  folio  228  Ivington
             Elizabeth  35

MORRIS James  37           HO107/2492  folio 65  Huntington
             Margaret  57

Perhaps someone, who has the census image, could look up the above which would give more information.  Do you have them in 1861?

Thanks for the info from the 1851 census. In 1861 James is married to Elizabeth and they have 2 children, Charles c1857 and Agnes, my grandmother born 24 Jan 1861. James was a widower at their marriage and in the 1861 census he appears to have been born in either Henchester or Kenchester, Herefordshire. His father, also James was a wheelwright. It's the Morris family that I'm trying to get info on-I've traced the Deardens back to 1796 and hopefully when I can travel to Hay I should be able to find out more. Here's hoping! regards, Di

He would have been  born in kenchester just out of hereford  on the brecon /kington road .
