William & Hannah (Woodman) Smith
« on: Saturday 17 September 05 23:24 BST (UK) »

William Smith and wife Hannah were married 1796, St. Mary's, Lambeth, Surrey.  Had sons William 1797, Benjamin, Joseph & Thomas -1802.  Hannah died July 1802.  Son William was admitted to Christ's Hospital (Blue Coat School) in 1805 and was there until 1812.  In 1813 he sailed to Rupert's Land (Canada) as a Clerk with the Hudson Bay Company.  Smiths known to have been living at #9 Cumberland Row, Kennington Green in 1802 (Hannah died at that address) and in 1812 when William Jr was released into his father's care from the school..this address was given.  Would like to establish what happened to William Jr's father and brothers after he went to Canada.  William Jr was my 4x grandfather.  Hope to get some leads as where to search for info.  Thanks bunches...Peedee in Canada
