Hi
Does anyone have or know where I can find out more on the history of a town called Lisco in Nebraska.
My maiden name was Liscoe and I am trying to piece together or family tree. William Liscoe is the person Iam interested in as I am looking for the link to my grt grt grt grandfather Richard and it is possible William could be his brother . Any info will be great. Thanks
Tazzie

Lisco is a village located in Garden County in the "panhandle" section of western Nebraska. The Garden Co. genweb site - http://www.rootsweb.com/~negarden/place.html has little to say about it. The village was named after Reuben Lisco who once owned the land upon which it sits. He was an early cattleman in the area who owned about 40,000 acres and was president of the Lisco State Bank. The post office was established 26 July 1909.

Rueben was Williams son .
William is listed as being born in England on the 1880 census but I have found him elsewhere as born in Ireland. His date of birth is 1824 ,my grt grt grt gradfathers is 1822 so I am looking for the link. Will look at the site and see what I can glean. Thanks Tazzie
