HI I am trying to trace the family of.. Charles John Liscoe b 1884in Bermondsey. He was the son of George and Martha Liscoe and my grandfathers uncle. I do not know what part of Australia he came to but it was after 1901.Everyone else stayed in England so probably never saw him again.
It is a long shot but does the name Liscoe ring any bells.
Nothing in war records or the Ryerson (death notices) index either.
Nothing in the National Archives.

The main paper for family notices would be the Sydney Morning Herald. The Ryerson Index has all the death and funeral notices in the SMH since (I think) 1974. Other regional newspapers are slowly being added to the index. http://userdb.rootsweb.com/aus/cgi-bin/aus.cgi
The surname 'Liscoe' does not produce any records from that index.
Perhaps if you could find a name of a town it would be easier to locate a regional newspaper which might contain some information.
