I am looking to follow my Granfathers roots but have come to a full stop.
John Kavanagh was born in Macclesfield in 1847 according to the 1901 census. He was also recorded as John Cairnah who was born in Maklesfield in 1849 in the 1881 census.
I have tracked down the records for the family of Peter Kavanagh who lived in Pickford St Macclesfield at the time of the 1881 and 1901 census.
Are they related??
Can any one help with any additional information on the Kavanaghs in Macclesfield??
Here are your family back to 1861 it looks likely they could be in Derbyshire prior to that (1851 census) the name is spelt Caveney in 1861 but I an sure they are the same lot.

This was exactly the confirmation I was looking for as it confirms the links between John Kavanagh in Hartington with His Family in Macclesfield and his brother in Buxton. I had long suspected that this was the case but could never find the supportive evidence......until now!!
