Hepzibah Annie Burge 1887-1969
|
Hi all,
Having just about mastered scanning photos I would love to learn how to improve them. I looked at a colourising tutorial (just out of interest I probably need to start with something more basic?) but it didn't seem to be compatible with software I have.
I have PhotoStudio2000 which came with my scanner. I find it easy to use for scanning, cropping & resizing. I have used it for red eye removal but that's about it.
This photo is the only one I have of my Nan before the age of about 50. My Nan Edith is on the left. Her baby brother Morgan was born in the summer of 1919.
I haven't got access to the original - this copy was sent to my father. I scanned at the highest resolution I could without getting lots of wavy lines.
Any (polite ) suggestions??
Many thanks
Debbie

Big improvement, thank you.
I like the coloured one but I'm not sure about the ginger hair...although maybe that's where my auburn lights come from
My Nan had black hair as a young adult. My great aunt told us that her sister's hair fell out when she had rheumatic fever and grew back a totally different colour!
I'm looking forward to finding out how to do this sort of thing myself.
Thanks again.
Debbie

Hi Denn,
According to my Baby names book Hephzibah or Hepzibah was
borne by the wife of Hezekiah, King of Judah; she was the mother of Manasseh (2 Kings 21). It is also used in the prophecies of Isaiah as an allusive name for land of Israel. It apparently means 'my delight is in her' and was supposedly handed down to the eldest daughter in my great gran's family. My great gran was known as Nancy or Annie though so maybe she wasn't too keen. I am the third eldest daughter in line from her so maybe I had a lucky escape although I do quite like it.
