Passing this on for all those interested in the Guildford area.  Looks like brilliant value!
"The Guildford Collection" is new CD - coming soon  from West Surrey FHS.
 It will be launched at the Society's Open Day at Woking Leisure Centre on 5th

  This is an extensive collection of Guildford area material representing
fantastic
value.

Contents include:

A six page, illustrated profile of Guildford -  by Dr Robert Mesley.

Parish Registers:---------
Transcriptions for five parishes -  Holy Trinity, St Mary, St Nicolas, Stoke
next
Guildford and Worplesdon -  all from the beginning of the Registers through to
Baptisms 1840, Marriages 1837 and Burials 1865.

Census Indexes &c :-----------

1801 Guildford schedule of Heads of Households with analysis of occupants
by gender, age, Ag/nonAg occupation.

1851 & 1861 Combined name indexes for all the above parishes, plus Merrow. The
index includes age, birthplace and census reference.  Also an  1861 "as
enumerated"
transcription.

1891 Index to Worplesdon

1901 Index to Worplesdon plus an "as enumerated" transcription.

Wills Abstracts:----------
Hundreds of abstracts  from Surrey Wills  which mention
testators and legatees in the Guildford and Worplesdon area spanning  the period
from late fifteenth century through to1854 (approx 850 pages).

Poll Books:----
 Guildford Poll Book of 1790 - original images plus an index and notes.

Miscellaneous:----------

A short history of Jacobs Well - written by Jim Miller ( over 50 pages)

Old postcard images from the area - used cards have the messages/adressees
transcribed;

76 present-day photographs including buildings, churches and scenes in the area

 You can even zoom in on the WWI & WWII war memorial and read all the names.

At the Society's Open Day on 5th November this CD will be sold at the special

Day" launch price of £10.   Thereafter the all inclusive* price will be £12

Sorry folks.   My posting yesterday contained a couple of errors - which are now
corrected:-

1. The 1790 Guildford Poll Book:
This does not include any *original* images.
 It is a detailed transcription of the proceedings commencing
Easter Monday 21st June 1790.  Fully Indexed.

2. The Price.
The Open Day special price is correct at £10 but thereafter it will be £12.50
(not
£12.00).
