Hi Axelaust

The family are still in Piccotts End in 1851.  This is a delightful hamlet close to Old Hemel Hempstead High Street.  It still oozes charm despite the recent conversion of Piccotts End Mill into flats, and some new housing.

HO107/1715 Folio 222a
Piccotts End
Hemel Hempstead

David, Head, Widwr, 41, Farmer of 85 acres & Hay Dealer, employing 2 men, b Gt Gaddesden

Here are a few links for Piccotts End.

The biggest house in the village is now a pub/restaurant called the Marchmont Arms.  The house originally belonged to the Earl of Marchmont.

This could be a baptism for George.  Flamstead isn't very far from GG and HH.  I couldn't find any other records for this family on the BVRI, so I'm afraid you will need to check parish films at your nearest LDS Family History Centre or HALS.

Hi Axelaust,

.....   and finally, there is a death recorded for Catherine Hooker as follows -

Catherine Hooker  Dec Quarter 1849  Hemel Hempstead Dist  Vol.6. P.382.

PS.  I assume you have got the Family Group Record on Familysearch for David's parents, Zachariah and Lydia and their eleven children.

Hi Peter

One of those 11 children is my 3xGF so I am getting to know all 11 of Zachariah & Lydia very well

Thank you so much for your help with the 1841 and the death record for Catherine.
