CRADDOCK family in Ellington

Is anyone researching the Craddock family from Ellington, Hunts?  I have traced back to Richard, born c1796 who was married to Mary Chapman (b.1796) from Kimbolton.  I cannot find any details of the ancestors of either of these.

hi,

In the 1851 census there is a widowed Richard Craddock born c1792 Ellington. There are also six other Craddocks. Judging by ages and presuming they are all related, they couuld be Richard's children and grandchildren.

Thanks for the census info.  My main sticking points are pre-census periods when I cannot find record of Richard or Mary's baptisms and hence families.

Can I suggest a E-mail to the Huntingdon Records Office. the Ellington Parish records have been printed in book form as I have traced some of the families in the Parish. They might just look up the family if you are lucky. If all else fails you will have to visit

Thanks for your suggestion. I have actually spent many hours in the Hunts records office looking through the Ellington registers but Richard Craddock's baptism is recorded in these registers even though the census records say he was born in Ellington.  I have come to an impasse.
