The 1851 census indicates you should be looking in the county of Northamptonshire on the 1841 census for the family

It might be worth trying to find Robert's birth registration on 1837online to try and pinpoint exactly where he was born.
As the family moved around so much it will also help you if you had an old county map of England and Wales so you can see where the counties are, so you know which board to place your requests on. Chelsea though once in Middlesex was absorbed into London long ago and is now thought of as part of the West End of London. Hitchen Maria's birthplace (on the 1861 census as well) is in the county of Hertfordshire not Buckinghamshire.

From the IGI a possible baptism for Maria

The surname isn't common in Hertfordshire.
On the 1851 and 1861 censuses your Maria is consistent with an age that would give her year of birth as circa 1815/14. On the 1871 census even earlier 1813/12, so if this 1817 baptism is your Maria it would have to have taken place somewhile after her birth. Maria's death in 1874 gives her age as 63 which would make her birth year even earlier circa 1811/10. The baptismal entry in the register itself might confirm it was a late baptism by giving Maria's age or date of birth.
The baptism of two of Maria's subsequent siblings might indicate her parents were sometimes late baptising their children.

There is a possible earlier marriage in 1807 in Hertfordshire for Maria's parents.
Philip and Maria's later children who would have had their births registered and you could confirm Maria's maiden name through obtaining any of their birth certificates.
