Hi Graham
This is just a thought – I see on the 1861 that there are a number of Shilleto's who come from ULLESKELF in Yorkshire. Could Huskill possibly be a misspelling/mishearing of Ulleskelf by the enumerator? Ulleskelf is not near Hull, though. Alternatively there is a place called HESSLE, about 5 miles from Hull, which might be a possibility.
Was your James Shilleto still alive at the time of the 1861 census, for a check on there?

Hi Jane.. I have been to ULLESKELF (even physically) There is a James identical I thought I was on the money but he turned up in Wakefield as a basketmaker..can't find another James there .Perhaps he is on the 1861 I haven't checked there at all. I am just coming back after a 2 year break. He is James SHILLETO born 1826c. He ended up in Kent in 1866 where he made a life but prior to that he is a mystery , I have my money on the Hessle/Hull area. In 4 "publications " he said he was from Hull in 3 instances and Huskill once Thanks for your reply Graham

Hello Graham
I have looked on the 1861 but the only James Shilleto there is the basket maker from Ulleskelf. I've tried lots of variations of name, birth date, place etc but with no result I'm afraid.
You're right – a mystery!
Hope you get a break in the end.
Jane
